If you need emergency HVAC service this winter, we offer 24-hour emergency service.
Hopefully, you won’t need emergency service this winter. The best way to ensure that is to get regular maintenance for your heating equipment. If you didn’t do it during the fall, don’t wait another day to schedule a tune-up for your boiler or furnace.
Winter can be harsh in the Hudson Valley. You want to be sure your heating system won’t let you down this winter. A no-heat emergency can be dangerous, inconvenient, and extremely expensive.
Maintenance is important. In addition to reducing the likelihood of a breakdown and a no heat emergency, tune-ups keep your heating system running at peak efficiency. A heating system that doesn’t receive regular maintenance can lose up to 5% of its efficiency every year. Regular maintenance for your heating system saves you money on your energy bills and reduces the likelihood of you’ll have to pay for expensive emergency repairs.
For both our propane gas and heating oil customers, Downey Energy offers service plans for boilers and furnaces than include an annual tune-up plus discounts on repairs.
Annual maintenance visits are designed to address any wear and tear on your heating system and get ahead of any potential problems before they become more serious.
During a maintenance visit, your HVAC professional will do the following:
Your heating system should be serviced once a year. And it’s best to do it before the heating season is really under swing, since that will make scheduling much easier, and it will also make it less likely that your heating system will fail when you need it the most. However, it’s more important to get yearly maintenance than to schedule it for the perfect time. So if you haven’t had your heating system serviced yet for the year, don’t put it off any longer.
You don’t need to enroll in a service plan to schedule an annual service visit for your heating system, but it is a good investment. It’s akin to health insurance. In addition to being good preventative care, it also includes coverage for if and when things go wrong.
